Predictability vs adrenaline rush

I seem to have discovered a new passion in form of polls, so here I am, fueling it with a new one; I think it may be useful to let us understand better the fellow players.

So here's the current theme:

I think we all agree that EU is a zero-sum game, where MA gets a share (part from paying expenses - server, stuff, etc and part for their own profit), that means that the total loot returns (over all people) in TT value are a sub-unitary number (we will ON AVERAGE loot less than what we spent hunting/mining/crafting). We may like that, we may not like it, but it is obviously true - no business model would be sustainable in a different scenario.

So, starting from this universally accepted truth (loot value will be less than spent value, in TT value), and presuming that, given a large enough statistical sample, in all scenarios the return rate would be identical what would you prefer? High predictability, or high excitement caused by the big hits?



Now to better explain the options, since in poll they were limited to 100 chars:

2) I would like more predictability - drop the big hits, just give me more constant returns --- what that means is pretty much remove the gambling system; pretty much all mobs will return about the same loot (if we consider 90% to be current average, all loots would be something like 80% to 100%, nothing bigger).

3) I would like more predictability - constant returns, but cut a small share for very rare big hits --- returns would be much more constant than today, but the big hits also much more rare; keeping with previous example with 90%, all mobs will give loot like between 80% and 98% and a global roll would be something that will happen only once at a few hundred mobs

4) I would like more adrenaline rush - lower returns in standard runs, but big hits more often --- the standard (not including big hits) return rates would be lower than today (let's say 50% return rates excluding the big hits), but the big hits (swirlies - globals/hofs) will happen more often.

5) I would like more adrenaline rush - lower returns in standard runs, but bigger big hits --- the standard (not including big hits) return rates would be lower than today (let's say 50% return rates excluding the big hits), the big hits will be as common as they are now, bu when they happen, they would have a bigger magnitude (so we'll probably see the ATH top being totally changed in a couple of months).



If you want to also comment (explain better) on top of voting, feel free to do so, but PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT/CRITICIZE other people's options (if you want to do that, please open a new thread, don't derail this one). As far as it concerns me at least, I won't judge or criticize and I don't consider there are any correct or wrong answers... just trying to see how majority of players see and treat the game.
