The official reason for the update to MM FFA is that some ppl use alts for the UA reward and that this causes harm to the CLD turnover.
Now, the most easy solution would have been a single check if an avatar was at least a month or a couple months old or have a certain skill level. They can do this for accessing Thule or the gauntlet awards.
But this isn't the real reason.
The fact is that even without exploiters those stars would be sold. Because selling them, even at a lower price than the reward brings the seller profit if he already completed the mission. And many people that don't want to participate in Mayhem (including miners) would love to buy UA at a discount; since they would buy ammo/probes from the tt anyway.
The real reason is that MA/PP miscalculated the possible effect and thought that the players would be dumb enough to hold on to the points to compete for the "amazing" prizes.
shame on you player-base, to be too smart and sober. Why do you stop having idle hope for that carrot on a stick.
I would actually want to know how many "exploiters" there are.
They aren't the smarted cookies in the basket if you ask me. Not only the time to actually convert that UA into TT value; but also the 90% return on average (or lower).
Compare this to actually selling those star tokens at 90% of the reward value or even 80%.
C'mon people; we know MA/PP fucked up and pointing to a couple losers who make alt accounts for prolly less then 1000 UA in total.
If it isn't already a completely made up story to begin with.
Open your eyes.
